What is Inclusive Recreation? Inclusive Recreation is where people with and without disabilities play on the same sports teams. Our leagues are non-competitive and open to boys and girls from the ages of 3 years old and up.
What is Skills Day and Why do we have this? Skills day is typically held two weeks prior to the first game of each season. In order to gauge the ability level of each of the participants, we have each participant go through a series of skills stations where they are ranked individually for that skill. If time permits, we also try to play a scrimmage.
When we (The Arc Baton Rouge and BREC) create the teams, we use the skills day information as well as age group to determine what team each player would thrive on. We hope for each and every player to have fun as well as learn sports skills!!!
