The intent of the Community Life program is for individuals to successfully live on their own in their community. They will "have a life". When we help people who live in their own homes, they are a part of their community. Not in a segregated setting like a group home or a State School. Our support helps individuals live alone or with roommates in apartment complexes, or homes where any typical person might live. They shop in the stores in their community, pay their bills, do their banking... they are tax payers who support the local economy.
The Community Life staff are very involved in ensuring safety needs are met as well as personal needs and the care of the household is taken care of. Our employees go into the person's home and help them to the extent needed. Assistance is provide in getting them get to work, church, grocery shopping anywhere in their community needed to go.
